He was well known and respected not only for his show record but also for his incredibly good temperament.

His sire, Freckles Playboy, and his maternal grandsire Peppy San Badger have both produced over $25 million. His mother, Little Miss Dry, produced $323,343.00 and his 2nd dam, Miss Dry, was the NCHA FUTURITY NON PRO CHAMPION producing offspring winnings of $236,998.00 including Haidas Dude.

Play Red was test bred at age 5 and retired sound to stud at age six. He is currently breeding some of the best mares in the country for some of the most experienced performance horse breeders around in the business.
